Four Seasons At The Farm

Having grown up in Oklahoma, it is strange for me to acutally see four distinct seasons. Down in the Southern MidWest your seasons are green and brown. There is very little in between. We have now owned the farm for 15 months and I finally have a complete set of pictures to show the seasons up there.

Spring is honestly the time of renewal and rebirth. The trees, grass and plants slowly turn their from brown to wonderful colors from dormancy. We had many colorful steps to spring this past year (2003) starting with a major ice storm the first week of April.

Pissed off Robin-this bird was NOT in the least happy with the snow.

After winters final blast we had a slow evolution to a rainbow of colors.

May brings sights that only May can bring.

June shows her colorful bounty and the farm comes alive.

The summer months are lucious and green.

Fall brings a beauty of it's own from the vibrant greens to the muted golds with shades of red and orange mixed in to blend the pallet.

And the final glimpse before winter hibernation returns to the farm and she prepares for her next rebirth.

Winter brings its own solice and joy. The pristine white of the fresh snow shows the lonely tracks of a searching deer, the hippity hop footprints of the birds as they hunt for their daily rations, the tail dragging of the mice and other smaller mammals.
